Designers Christen Showhouse in Preparation for its Transformation

Interior designers and other Cashiers community members gathered for light hors d'oeuvres and a champagne toast Friday afternoon while enjoying their first peak at Chinquapin's Designer Showhouse. The Showhouse will bustle with activity over the next three months as designers work to wow the public when house opens for viewing for four weeks beginning June 14.

Crafted by Carruth Homes of Cashiers, the Showhouse represents the very first residence constructed at Chinquapin-an ecologically pristine, light-adventure community that was developed by Trillium Land Company

Chinquapin Vice President of Sales and Marketing Gary Young says, "This is just one way we can help local citizens and business owners become part of the Chinquapin experience. We founded Chinquapin on the Carlton family's vision of protecting and appreciating the natural beauty of the mountains. We believe that the local culture plays a big part in that, and we really want to look for ways to bring that culture to the forefront at Chinquapin."

At the kickoff Patrons Party Friday evening, June 13, local artist Laura John will paint a canvas on site that will be taken home by the highest bidder in a wet auction.

The Humane Society of Cashiers and Highlands as well as Hampton Preschool will benefit from proceeds from visits to this spectacular home. Tickets can be purchased for $25 at the Chinquapin Trading Post (sales office). For more information, contact 828-743-4507. For more information about Chinquapin, visit
